Mr. Jin's Shoe Store
Relationship:
Child of im/migrant
When my parents came to America, they owned nothing. Both spent their family's life savings on a one-way ticket to New York. With my mother still requiring education, she worked at a shoe and cap store named Mr. Jin's Shoe Store near Fordham Road and Grand Concourse in the Bronx. With this pay, she had some amount of money to pay tuition and live off of with my father. The American dream is the opportunity to work hard and pursue a happier life, and my mother's story in America is a testament to it.
