My Baby Picture

One object that is sentimental to me is one of my baby pictures. This very one picture is special to me because it reminds me of my childhood. This specific picture is very important to me because only my grandmother, my parents and I have it. When I first found the picture, I kept it under my pillow every day until I got my first wallet. From that day on, I keep it in my wallet. This picture was taken when I was graduating from Pre-K and heading to kindergarten. This is one of the most significant times in my youth because it was the beginning of my success for the future. When I look at this picture it motivates me to know that I didn’t start from a little boy to give up now, it tells me to continue forward because it’s the only way. In my family, my great-grandmother is most representative of my cultural identity because whenever anyone has questions or wants to talk, they can almost always got to her. My family’s American story began with my grandparents because their parents have not been to America before. My grandparents migrated from Ghana which is in West Africa. My family’s story connects to other family’s stories because some other people could be the first generation of their family in America and others might have been in America for years.
