Millie the Bear
As a baby, I was given a stuffed bear from my grandmother as a present on my first Christmas. This has been the bear I've reached for through everything. It's old and gross now, but, as a baby, it was the only thing I really kept track of. It's the only thing that I would reach for at night and hold on to. Through every nightmare and fight, Millie the stuffed bear was there. This bear reminds me of all that I've been through, all the rough times my family and I have gone through and how we got out. It reminds me of all the happy times I've had playing with this bear through childhood. While my grandmother who gave me this bear does not remember who I am anymore, I have, and always will cherish this gift she gave me as a baby, and continue to hold this bear when I rest my head at night.
