Brazilian Money
My family artifact is money from Brazil. Money from brazil is spelled reais but pronounced (hey-ice). I chose this object because my father used to live in Brazil, and before he immigrated to New York he used reais. Reais money is important to me, and my family because I have visited Brazil. It has a lot of different animals, and fruit that is am reminded of to this day because it is on the Brazilian money, and obviously my dad brings it up. Each of the Brazilian reais paper money bills have different animals on them. Some of the foods that are from Brazil are pão Queijo,Catupiry,Farofa, Acai, Pasteis, and Mandioca fritas. One of the drinks are guarana.etc. In Brazil a lot of people like to dance to Brazilian music. Here are some recommended types of music: samba, choro, bossa nova.
My dad immigrated to America when he was six with his mom, dad, and sister. My dad and his family moved here because his parents wanted better jobs and his parents wanted better opportunities, and education for their kids. When my dad immigrated here it was winter so when they got of the plane my dad and his sister saw snow for the first time. I love how my dad is an immigrant because I live with someone from a different country so I get to learn about different culture and a different language. Since my dad is Brazilian he does Brazilian jiu jitsu and kickboxing because it reminds him of his culture. I like having a parent from a different culture because I get to travel and see new things and learn about my dads background, and how he grew up.
