Matzah Ball Soup

My story is the story of Jewish cuisine. A large part of my family came from Russia and other parts of Europe where Matzah Ball soup originated. Matzah Ball soup is made of Matzah Balls, Chicken Broth, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, dill, parsley and sometimes chicken. Matzah Balls are dumpling-like food from the Jewish culture made of Matzo Meal, eggs, water or seltzer, chicken fat or oil, salt, pepper and sometimes parsley for taste. Usually my mom’s side of the family gathers for Passover at my great aunt and uncle's house and enjoys this dish along with many others. This dish has so many fond memories connected to it. The scents of Matzah, parsley, garlic, onions and dill and the sounds of stories from the past fill the room with laughter. As we dig into the Matzah ball soup our mouths are filled with a million different flavors. You leave feeling warm inside and out.
