Grow up in Chinese family, there are something that every parent give to their child to wear,  like red rope or different kind of  jade. It represent to have good luck and protected from the disaster. The day before I came to America, my grandparents give me the jade to wear, the statue of the jade is Maitreya Buddha, It represent  "tolerate all the unfairness under the sun laugh all the  laughableness in the world" which this mean to be peace with everything , be friendly with other people, be happy no matter whats happening.
