In my family we have a special item that was pass down through my mother's side of my family. The item is a crucifix. My great grandmother gave it to my grandmother. Once my grandmother found out that my mother was going to come to the United States with my father she gave it to my mother. My grandmother said to my mother “ Take this for God can protect you on your journey.” Now my mother has passed the crucifix down to me. I keep the crucifix now in my room hanging above my bed.
