Linzer Torte
My object represents my great grandparents immigration story. They were fleeing WW2 from Nazi occupied Austria. My great grandma brought her linzer torte recipe because she felt that it was an important part of our family. Currently my family makes linzer torte with my grandparents. It is a family tradition especially during Christmas time. Linzer torte is a type of cake with a nut based crust with raspberry jam filling, the extra dough is rolled into thin strips and and weaved on top of the raspberry filling. That is baked in the oven. The family recipe has been passed down from generation to generation and is an important part of our family tradition.
