I come from a Caribbean background, having a big Soup pot is a normal thing in my family. Mines is kinda newer than the usual one that's Silver and makes a sound when you try to close the lid when you're sneaking food out the pot. This pot is important to me because when it's a cold winter night and you want some warm and filling, in my family, you either make chicken soup (Or any kind of soup) or Porridge. An you make a big of soup or porridge and the smell the wafts through the house and it smells like home. And get our bowls ready and my mother pours out, and she adds extra dumplings for me cause, I like them.  That makes me feel a connection to my Caribbean Heritage.
