The Ancient Arms of Blissenbach is a framed photo in my house and my grandparents house. This framed photo talks about my last name Blissenbach and where it originated from and how it was immigrating from Germany in the early 1800s. The frame is an espresso Brown with multiple different symbols like a crest, crowns and banners with eagles and knights which embody courage, strength and power.
My ancestors originally came from the southeastern part of Germany also known as Bavaria. My grandparents got this framed photograph from my grandmother's grandma. After she died she passed it down to her and then my grandma made another copy of this framed certificate for my family to help carry on the tradition.
This story states “In this early period prominent bearers of the surname Blissenbach were the Von Baab family of Bavaria.” This means my family comes from a family in 1772 from Bavaria, the southeastern part of Germany where my ancestors are from. This also states we arrived in America in 1818 in Mississippi. The last name Blissenbach is now considered a very authentic last name.
