Cuban Flag
My Story When my dad came over from Cuba when he was around seven. He brought over a Cuban flag. He left Cuba just in time. He left and came to the U.S. before Fidel Castro took over and cut all ties with the U.S. He first lived in Florida and shortly moved up to New Jersey. His brother and sister stayed in Florida though. He grew up in Elizabeth and kept up his Spanish culture. Whenever we have a Cuban dish at home, we always remember the flag and our culture. This is important because it shows who I am has a person and how my culture plays into my life. This means a lot to my dad because he shows the hardship, he has been through to get here and make a successful life. This always helps me show where a came from. This shows if there is a will there is a way.
