Kiddush Cup
This Kiddush cup was my great great grandmother Nettie Lichtenstien's. She was born in NYC in 1894. Her parents immigrated from Prussia which today is a piece of Poland. She got this cup for her synagogue's 50th anniversary in 1919. The Kiddush cup is a special cup for the Jewish blessing over wine. This cup is extra special because it was used in my parents' wedding in 2009 in Brooklyn (where we now all live). The cup has been in my mom's side of the family for a very long time and is a reminder that our family has Jewish roots. I hope that this cup will stay in my family forever as a reminder of where we came from.
