Irish Soda Bread Recipe

the original recipe

This was my grandmothers recipe, passed down from her mother. My grandma Tess had eight siblings (Kathleen, Peggy, Lena, Bea, John, Eamon, Owen, and Junior). This recipe has been passed down through my family for years. The bread is especially moist and cakey. It goes well with butter and a cup of Barry's Irish Tea. It is special to me because she died long before I was born, so it's a little piece of her I'll have forever. My mom and I still make it every St. Patrick's Day. We love it dearly.
