My parents are from Trinidad. We would always go to the beach and enjoy the sunset and the wavy ocean while playing cricket or football. The beach was always calm. There's lots of nice looking shells in the sand. My family has always been good at cooking and even though I don't really cook I think I can still cook pretty good. Every time my mom cooks she's always listening to music, especially from Vybz Kartel. She likes cooking roti, baked ackee and saltfish, and curry chicken with rice and peas. I remember sneaking and eating the curry chicken from the pot when nobody’s looking. My favorite traditional meal she made was aloo pie, its fried potato crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can put curry chickpeas, cucumber, meat, onions, with a tamarind or mango sauce.
