I was born in Jamaica and moved to America when I was young. I didn't really remember alot but I still know where I came from and my culture. The details about my home country from I have grown I have learned a lot. When I first came to America, I was in Queens, New York. I lived with my mom and my stepdad in a 1 room basement. I had to be hiding from the landlord for months because my stepdad would have to pay more if there was a extra person living there. Back in Jamaica, everything was free and green food has harder to get so I had to be hungry at some times but I learned to satisfy with what I had and what I didnt. When the landlord found me, my stepdad got in trouble and I had to move out so I lived in New Jersey for a few months with my uncle, his wife, and three kids while my mom worked and was making up money. My favourite foods from Jamaica would be oxtail curry chicken and white rice, ackee and saltfish, jerk chicken, and dumplings these were some of Jamaica's traditional foods.
