My artifact is a plaque of an Albanian hero, Grejre Casterioti Skenderbeu. The artifact is handmade from copper into the shape of a shield.Skenderbeu fought in the war against Turkey. Kosova won the war against Turkey and Skenderbeu helped to defend the country. Sadly, he died when he was around 61-65 years old. In his honor, statues of him were built all over Europe, such as: Paris, London, and many other places. The two-headed eagle in the background is the the eagle that’s on our flag.  This artifact is from Pristina, the capital of Kosova. Kosova used to be a part of Yugoslavia, Until the Ottoman Empire came and took over.  Everytime I look at the piece of art, I wonder:What would happen to Kosova if Turkey had won?The artifact is a decoration that my aunt keeps at her desk. Everytime I go to Pristina with my family, after a month, you never want to leave. Pristina is very beautiful with its mountains and don’t even get me started on the FOOD! Everytime I have to leave at the end ofthe summer, is like leaving a part of ME.  Listen,  if you ask me: Where do you love more, US or Kosova?I would say: That’s like asking me what’s my favorite flavor of ice cream, vanilla or chocolate? I’m gonna say…BOTH!
