Grandfathers communist pins

A few of my grandfather's pins

My grandfather had been a member of the CPUSA (Communist Party USA) at a time when being a communist was very dangerous. The FBI, which had directed its focus to hunting down communists in the United States, had a FOIA file on him, revealing the extent to which the FBI monitored his every movement. He was a very nice man, and disproved the common stereotype of communists. He was enormously generous in giving free treatment to poor New Yorkers, as well as leading medical missions to North Vietnam. These pins were small tokens of appreciation from the USSR and North Vietnam.
