Gold Necklace
My grandparents immigrated to America from Italy about 60 years ago. After arriving in America, they traveled back and forth from Italy for many years. My grandpa started bringing home jewelry from his trips for my Grandma. He bought her gold jewelry while in Italy as a present and a reminder of how much he missed her. My Grandma kept the pieces of jewelry all of her life. Two years ago we went to my Grandma's house and she let my sisters and mom pick out one piece of jewelry. My mom picked a gold necklace. She wears it every day because she thinks it is very pretty. My sister picked a snake ring that she uses every day, and my other sister picked heart earrings. My grandparents are very old and they are starting to develop diseases such as Alzheimer's, so these family heirlooms will be very important to us in the future when they have passed away.
