Football has brought me and my father very close. When I was younger, I had to move in with my Dad because my mom couldn’t take care of me. Since I lived with my mom and my parents didn’t get along, I didn’t know my Dad that well. When I moved in with him, we were going through tough times and there wasn’t much to talk about. We would sit next to each other and there would be a very awkward silent between us. He started taking me to a nearby park and we would play catch. Eventually, this lead to conversations about so many other things than just football. I got to know my Dad very well, and eventually we became very close. He planted a seed in me, that grew into an athlete that has the potential to have his whole college education paid for. Us throwing the football has brought us closer together, and has impacted me in a way I would’ve never seen coming.
