Family Tree

My object is our family ranch located just outside of Priddy, Texas. Our ranch is nothing like some of those big ranches in north Texas; our ranch is just 450 acres but is everything that we could ask for. It was purchased when Henry Bufe left his parent’s house to try and pursue his goal of buying his own land. Coincidentally, the land he ended up buying, which is still in our family, was just a few miles from his parent’s house. Our piece of land was probably just a few labors that had been put together. According to my mom, when Henry Bufe was exploring Texas, he came across a beautiful piece of land outside of Priddy, Texas, and he decided he just had to have it. With that in mind that was over a hundred years ago when he purchased this land. It is important in history because it is a part of the Texas Family Land Heritage Program, which honors families who have owned and run a continuous agricultural operation for 100 years or more. This ranch is important to our family because it brings us closer as a family. I want people to know how much this land means to me and my family, and that we just enjoy being out there as a family.
