The object is called an evil eye bracelet. This bracelet looks purple and white with blue eye designs. It was made in the Dominican Republic, made from beets, Metal chains or fabric cords that form their foundations. I’ve worn this bracelet ever since it was given to me by Arleni, my childhood best friend six months ago. It was given to me by her as a gift for our anniversary of being best friends for 15 years. We gave each other identical ones to show how much we care for each other and for when we are countries away we can have something to remind us of each other. This bracelet is something I cherish very much because my best friend has always been there for me when I needed her the most. Therefore I feel that the bracelet represents my best friends and I friendship and how important our friendship is to me. Me and my best friend have known each other since we were literal babies since my mom and her mom have known each other since they were kids. Not only does this bracelet remind me of my best friend but it's also part of my culture since the eye designs are designed to protect you from the people that want to harm you. The person that is wearing it is protected from evil eyes or bad luck and those are beliefs from my country and many other countries and religions.
