Electronic dictionary
This electronic dictionary represents my relatives' ongoing struggle of trying to learn English. This was especially true when they first came to the US and didn't know much English. This dictionary has helped them learn new and unfamiliar words that they encounter everyday. It was an especially important and invaluable item to them when they were going through the naturalization process. Although my relatives will frequently ask me to help translate or explain English words to them, it is not always possible for them to understand me completely or for me to always give a proper translation. Translating American history to them was practically impossible for me; that was way beyond my knowledge of Chinese. This tool has been used by my relatives for decades and still proves to be extremely useful even today.
