Ms. Ruby Ventry shares two family heirlooms that are very significant to her, a dictionary printed in the 1870’s handed down from her mother and her mother’s skill of sewing.  Both heirlooms are extremely precious for the ways they have guided her life and because they are the only things that survived when her home was destroyed by the levee failures following hurricane Katrina.  Ms. Ruby Ventry also shares a beautiful story of resilience, compassion and faith from the days she was living in a FEMA trailer.
