cross necklace
This story is about my parents crossing the border when they were teenagers. My parents came from Puebla, Mexico. My mom and dad had to walk through the desert, then they took a truck to go to Cali. But before my parents went to the truck my mom burned her left arm. She got a big scar because her arm touched the electric wire. My parents told me that they were very hungry and cold but they didn't feel alone because they had each other. My mom had the cross and she prayed so she can feel better and she did end up feeling better. Today I hold the cross she had when she was crossing. This object represents a sign a sign of hope and faith because my mom used it and it helped her so I believe that it can give me faith too. But my the reason my parents left Mexico is because my mom was already pregnant and she wanted to give my older brother a better life and for me and my sister.
