Colombian Flag
MY BANDERA COLOMBIANA by Santiago Ramirez Bandera Colombia means Colombian flag. I had an assignment to complete. It was a writing assignment and we had to bring an immigrant object that meant a lot to us. Then I remembered in 3rd grade we had to bring an artifact to share. I had brought my Colombian flag. Colors of the flag are commonly known in two ways: One version indicates that the yellow symbolizes sovereignty and justice, blue as loyalty and vigilance, and red represents the valor shown and the victory achieved during the battles for independence from Spain.
Colombians play a lot of soccer games and when we win we celebrate holding the flag. The flag is is made up of a special fabric. I chose the bandera Colombia because is really important to me. When I was four or five years old my father gave me a flag and I have been loving the Colombian flag since then.
The Colombian flag was sponsored in 1860. This makes the flag one of the oldest flags in the whole world. Colombia won freedom from Spain and since then the flag represents freedom, unity and strength.
