Carne asada
Carne Asada It is a foodway where immigrant/ migrant families such as mine gather all together whether we seen each other in months, years, or even days. It does not matter, its a special way that we all put everything to the side and come to this gathering which is usually in my nana’s house. We bring the family together at these cookouts. This is not only food it represents as a cornerstone of the community, as well such as love, and tradition which acts as a social ritual rather than it just being a meal . It brings generations together to strengthen bonds, share music and foster a sense of belonging, often considering you as family . In my family when we gather together to enjoy a traditional meal we focus on sharing foods, stories, heritages around the fire allowing us and everybody else to know generations of stories. The parelliero that we used to cook the carne asada is passed down within our families. Carne asada gatherings are very common within our culture. We tend to do it on every special occasion even on weekends, birthdays, holidays, we always tend to gather within our family and share a lovable meal where we get to just be within each other's presents . Carne asada is more than food; it is an event, celebration of community, and a vital expression of love and continuity for families.
