Candle Holders
One object that is special to my family is a candle holder, given to my family by my great-great aunt. These candle holders are made out of porcelain and we only use them on Jewish religious holidays. They are Lenox candlestick holders which is an expensive brand of China. My great-great aunt was a second generation immigrant and her family moved from Poland to Brooklyn, New York. My great-great aunt was a very religious person and she used these every Friday on shabbat. The candle holders were originally given to my mom as a special gift from her because they were very sacred to my great-great aunt. Since she was a very religious person every time my family and I use these candles we feel closer to Judaism. These candle holders mean a lot to me because I never got to meet her so when we use these I feel close to her and my ancestors.
