This is a soup tureen from Bohemia which is a region in the western half of what is now the Czech Republic. Tureens are essentially just containers for soups. This belongs to my friend who I met in high school. His great grandmother brought it with her to Chicago when she immigrated to this country from Bohemia in 1910. It has stayed within his family as a way to remind them of their ancestor who made the journey to Chicago over a century ago.
Place(s): Bohemia, Chicago
Year: 1910
