Bible
This object was my great-grandmother’s Bible. The bible was made in Belgium, but she had this bible when immigrating to the U.S. from Poland. The bible was used to practice their Ukrainian Orthodox religion when moving to the U.S. for better jobs. The bible was passed down to her son, my grandfather, who passed it down to my mother. This object is important to my family because it is not only an heirloom that is about 86 years old and has been passed down from generation to generation but the bible is written in both English and Ukrainian. The bible also has a photograph of my great-grandmother's family when she was a child (that was taken around 1925). The photograph represents my family before moving to the United States. This bible represents two languages that my family speaks but it also represents our religion. This item has been a very special object in my family and will hopefully continue to be passed down to me.
