Back in 2022, I was 10 years old. After Covid, I had a lot of catching up to do with family, and in particular, I remember being given an Áo Dài by my grandma. An Áo Dài is a sort of Vietnamese dress that's described as a "long tunic", often worn with loose silk pants. It's worn on holidays like Lunar New Year or formal events such as a wedding. 
On Lunar new year I used to wear my old Áo Dài that I was given by my grandma for Viet New Year. My grandma passed away in 2024, having fought her best against cancer. My Áo Dài holds memories of her and who I was, being more than just a cultural outfit to me. Even though I grew out of it, that doesn't mean I can grow out of the moments it brought me. I've kept the Áo Dài in good condition since I was given it, and I'll always remember the history I have with it.
