Wedding rings are important because they bring two people together in holy matrimony, and it combines families. The wedding ring also symbolizes commitment and eternal love. My mother married my father in 1988, and that’s when my family began. My father came to the United States to seek new job opportunities there. There were barely any jobs in Guatemala to help support his family, and at the time he already had three kids to provide for. Unfortunately, he had to leave my mother in Guatemala when he left for the United States. For three years, he spent most of his time working many jobs. After those three years passed, my mother came to the United States to be reunited with my father. She came here to work and provide support together with my father. Today, they are still together, and my family continues to grow bigger. My parent’s wedding ring symbolizes the unbreakable bond they have for each other, especially for all the times when they were apart. One day I hope in the future that I can make the same sacrifices they did for each other and for their family.
