Apron

In Attire

This apron signifies family and Thanksgiving to me. When I was growing up, my aunt always hosted Thanksgiving. The nieces and even some of the nephews clamored to wear the apron. I am not sure if my aunt ever used it herself at other times of the year or what it was that made it so desirable to us. Perhaps it gave us the feeling that we were helping to prepare the meal. The nieces and nephews are now adults and spread out across the country and my aunt has great nieces and nephews. She has now passed along the apron to me and also one of my cousins. Yes, we learned as adults that there were two of these coveted family symbols!
