This is a picture of the American flag that was laid over my Grandpa Oscar's casket. My grandpa was a World War II veteran. He was a medic in the war, and a major battle my grandpa was a part of was the Battle of the Bulge. An interesting fact about my grandpa, after the war, his brain was still trained to jump under his bed and hide there if he heard a plane flying overhead while he was sleeping. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting my grandpa, this flag is a reminder to me of who he was and what he did for our country.
