2013 Boston Marathon Medal
My object is my mom’s medal and pictures from the 2013 Boston Marathon. She got it when she finished the marathon. But she got the pictures later. She ran the marathon in 3:43:42. That was 13 minutes before the bombs went off. She got it April 15, 2013. She was also given a shirt and a jacket. The Unicorn on the medal represents striving for excellence. Every finisher got a medal, but unfortunately not everyone who entered got a medal because of the bombing. The medals were made by Ashworth Awards in Massachusetts. This medal means a lot to my family because it reminds of of that day and how we got stronger from it.
