Zweibach Rolls

Zweibach is a traditional German bread. It was originated in German by the Mennonite groups. My family is both German and Mennonite. In 1873, my great grandparents immigrated to the US. They brought wheat and a recipe book. In the recipe book, the first page is Zweibach. The tradition of using Zweibach at holidays and big events has been passed down since then. These rolls mean a lot to me because they bring a lot of memories back from these events that they are at. My families Thanksgiving and Christmases are so fun and so delicious because of these rolls. The rolls signify new beginnings in Mennonite communities.
