Zaney Green Plant
Shortly after my mother passed away in 2018, I moved in with my father. I would notice this plant that he had in his room, but didn't really pay much attention to it. Once in a blue moon I would help water it and use a fork to move some of the old soil around. Day after day I would walk past the plant, thinking that it was stagnant because I hadn't't seen any major growth. At some point in 2020 my dad moved the plant into the living room, and I had noticed how every few weeks, the plant was taking up more space on the wall, growing. I decided to use this plant as the object that is a part of my identity because it represents the fact that there is still beauty in life despite facing hardships. Losing a parent is no easy thing to experience. But this plant has been a symbol of my growth over the years as well. It has also been an everyday sign of hope to keep going. While the plant keeps growing up the wall, blossoming, I to am also accomplishing more and more of my goals. Blossoming just as the plant is.
