Yellow Rose Brooch
The video that I watched was by the author Reyna Grande about a dress made of tablecloth from when she was a girl.
I never really got to know my grandma before she died. That is one of the things I will regret forever. Yellow roses were my grandma's favorite flowers, so for her funeral, all of the women received yellow rose earrings. At the time I didn't have my ears pierced, but since I still wanted something special to wear for the ceremony, my dad gave me a yellow rose brooch. My grandma died during Covid when I was around five. She lived in Canada so I barley got to see her before she died. I miss her a lot, but when I hold this brooch, I can feel her watching over me, protecting me. When I hold this brooch, I feel like she's still here with me, and like I will never feel lonely. My brooch is one of my most treasured possessions.
