WWI Dog-Tags

Great-grandchild of im/migrant or more
These are my great grandpa's dog-tags from when he served in World War One. He served in the U.S. Calvary in France in 1918. When he returned home, to southern Illinois, he worked as a carpenter. What makes it more interesting is that, while he was of Irish descent, as i was asking my mom about him, I found out that his ancestry line was in the U.S. dating back to before the Revolutionary War. His relatives made their way to the colonies from Ireland by way of England, and settled in the north east in Vermont.
