This wooden bear with movable parts, fishing, was created in a small village in the Russian North. My grandmother brought it to my mom when she was in 7th grade, after her trip. Ever since my grandmother gave me this bear, I love to play with it and use it as a decoration, reminding me of how excited I was when I received it. This bear taught me an important lesson because it was made by people in a remote Russian village who were earning money for their settlement. All proceeds from the sale of items sold at the folk craft exhibition were sent back to the village. My grandmother is a master of folk crafts and had taught at various art schools. This resonates with me as it reflects my origins, allowing me to view it prominently at any time.
