wooden box of Navy uniforms
Every time when I went to the basement to play video games as a little kid I wondered what this big box was in the corner and I was always curious what was in it and one day my curiosity took over me and I opened it. The box smelled like an antique shop and what was inside was my great grandpa's navy uniform but i didnt know that at the time it was his. Later that day I asked my dad about whose uniforms they were and he told me how they were my great grandpas and told me stories about how my great grandpa fought in world war 2 as a pilot for the navy and to me that's important to me and i felt good about myself on how I know that my ancestors fought for this country. With my dad I looked through the navy uniforms. My favorite thing that I saw was this white uniform with many medals on it and i don't know why but I felt like I had a special connection to it. Now every time I go to the basement and I see the box I think about how my great grandfather fought for this country and how important he is to me and even though I never met him I felt like I've known him for my whole life.
