My object is very special to me; my great grandfather was in World War II and when the war was over and it was time to come home from Germany, he picked up a present for my great grandmother. He gave it to her when he arrived home. The present was two white ceramic elephants, one smaller than the other. After both of them passed away it was given to my mom, and it now resides on a self in my living room. I first learned about this object 5 years ago when i asked my mom where she got them, she then told me the story. It is important to me because it symbolizes how love is forever and has passed through generations. It can teach us about how war divides people in more ways than one, but war also strengthens the bond of love and brings couples together. My family heritage is very important to me, and I love finding out about my family's history.
