The Wolf Necklace
My dad came to the USA to work and send money to support my mother who lived in Mexico. When my dad came, he had no documents. My father promised my mother he would bring her some day. After some time passed, he appealed to get his documents. When he finally got them, he told my mother the good news. By this time our family had grown to five people in total. My mother, siblings and I were still in Mexico. This was a struggle for my father because he had to support himself here, pay rent and bills, and support my family. My father did get the documents he appealed for my family. We came to the USA and have been living here for ten years. My father was a very hard worker and he worked to get what he wanted for the family he loved. Two years ago my family and I went on a trip to Puebla, Mexico. We went to visit my grandparents living there. It was the last week of our trip in Mexico. My brother and I decided to go to the city. When we arrived to the city, we looked around in stores and also at random stands outside buildings. We saw a market stand with unique objects. I saw a carving and asked the merchant what is was. He told me it was a deer antler, carved into a wolf. I liked it and I bought it. I like sharing this story because it reminds me of all the beautiful things in Mexico, like the nature and wildlife there. This item is special to me because it was made in my home country, where I was raised. The object reminds me of home.
