When i was one year old i got baptized at a Catholic church wearing this dress. Than my mom and dad switched churches. After they immigrated  El Salvador, my family  thought that going to a smaller Christian church will make us more "more American" ; that everyone in the US was not Catholic. At the new church i didn't feel  as welcomed and at school I would see people talk about being catholic and how their church has over 1,000 people and they had jewelry that they got. But I had none. All I had was my pink bible and the dress from when I was one year old in my closet. In my whole school there were only three kids that went to my church but they acted differently at school, they would lie and sneak stuff they weren't supposed to. At the end the church was a toxic environment and didn't support each other as they would preach every Thursday & Sunday.
People in the USA, especially immigrants, think that they need to “act american” but there should be no right way to be american. We all have different cultures & have ways we do things. We all should spread the culture & religion and celebrate everyone.
