Watch
The watch been in my family for a long time. It was just a silver Timex with a black face and a metal band. My grandpa wore it everyday, even when he was working in the garage or fixing stuff around the house. When I was twelve I watched him wind it and set the day and date. I didn’t think it was special back then, but he always cared about it. He made sure it was running before he left for work. After he died my mom kept the watch in a box. Later she gave it to me. I felt nervous taking it, like it was heavy even though it was small. I didn’t know what to do with it at first. Now when I wear it I feel like he still here with me. The scratches on the face remind me of the times he was here. Every time I look at it I remember him and the things he said. One day I will give it to someone else in my family.
