My necklace is an important object to me because it was a gift from my best friend. When my friend came to my school she was always wearing a beautiful necklace. One day I asked her why she always wore that necklace. She told me that behind her necklace was an important story. Her grandfather who lives in Ecuador gave her the necklace on her 8th birthday. She cherishes the necklace because it was a gift from her grandfather and she promised him that she would always wear it. As time passed Melanie and I became best friends. She told me that she asked her grandfather to find me a necklace just like the one he had given her. Her grandfather in Ecuador was looking for one that looks like hers. The next week when Melanie got to school she told me that she had a surprise for me. When I opened the little box that she gave me, I saw that it was the same necklace that she wore! She told me that the necklace was a symbol that was going to represent our friendship. When she gave me that necklace I felt so special. Now my best friend Melanie and I have the same necklace. Since that day I always wear my necklace. Every month on the 13th, we celebrate another month of our friendship.
