Virgin of Guadalupe Statue
The object I have here is called, “La Virgen De Guadalupe.” The object was brought over to America by my mom. She used to live in Mexico. My mom is named Guadalupe as well. She believes very strongly that this statue gives her good luck not only to her but also to her family. She prays to this statue when she needs good luck or when she needs someone to guide her. The object is small and shaped oval. It fits right in her palm. It is that small. It is specifically made small so one can carry it wherever we need to take the object. This object is special and important because it reminds my mom of her heritage and the tradition that she followed when she was young growing up in her country. She had many siblings when she was growing up around her and they all considered this statue very important. This is why she feels close to this statue and feels this statue is connected to her childhood. My mom comes from a special place. The place is a village in Mexico. It is called Puebla. My mom immigrated to America in the year 2000.From Mexico when she was young and lived with her brother in New York in a house. They settled in New York and was very happy even though she missed her family in who did not come with her.Even though she was happy here she continued to miss her mom and was sad for a while. Soon she got accustomed to the new place very quickly.
