I chose this object because it was the only one that I have that connects to my immigration story. It helped me so much when I first to came to America when I was feeling mistreated or lonely. It was given to me by a very good friend from home in Uraguay. He dedicated the book to me. He said "I wish that this book will be a fountain of life for you". The day I left from Montevideo was December 23rd, 1966. 

The reason really that I came to the United States because I wanted to see the snow and save money and go to Paris. I wanted to go to Paris because I grew up in French school and I speak French. I thought Paris could be my second home. Eventually I went to Paris for 3 months in 1973!
