This virgin mary necklace has been passed down to two generations when it first was passed down it was 1967 and it is very important to my family because it has a picture of the virgin mary on it which  represents our religion which is Catholicism and was given to my grandmother by her mom and then later my mom passed it down to me when I was old enough to be able to take care of it. When my mom had it she wanted to pass it down to me  because she “wants me to have a piece of my family's past with me “ my mom had brought the necklace from her hometown in Mexico to the United States so I could have a better future. She explains to me how important the necklace is to her   “it's part of our religion and its my mom and my  grandmothers” as the years go by my mom has sent it off to get cleaned once in a while or she goes to a shop and they  add a few details to the necklace “so it doesn't look bad in the future”
