I visited New Orleans for the first time in 2013. I know this is a cliche, but within two hours of arriving in town, I knew that this is where I wanted to live. I kept a travel journal detailing my time exploring the city. I write in this journal everytime I visit a new place. I keep a separate journal to write it on a regular day, but when I am traveling somewhere new it gets a special spot in this book. A year after my first trip to New Orleans, I packed up my car in New York and moved down here. When I look at this journal, I remember all the enthralling and exciting experiences I had when I first arrived. It reminds me why I love living in this city even when things get challenging.
