Enchanted forest totem pole

The item I have chosen to write this story about is a totem pole. Ever since my great-grandfather was little he was taught how to carve totem polls weave baskets and learn many other skills. He was an Abenaki Native American born on a Canadian Native American reservation. He and his family would often sell and make baskets in the Adirondacks during the summer. When he was nine years old in 1917 his family moved to Old Forge in New York. When he was in the U.S he was in the Town of Web School. When he was at this school he would learn skills such as tapping and guiding.  He also would be greatly skilled at carving masks and figures out of wood he also made snowshoes and weaved baskets. While he was in America he would join the army and fight in World War Two. His service gained him his citizenship in the United States. During his time in the U.S helped make the Enchanted Forest village where he and his wife would weave baskets and carve totem poles for many years.
